Kiera Ziegler, Introduction, Question #7

While reading the introduction I realized how little so many people know about economics. Many of the issues in politics that to me seemed like a good solution are bad when truly looked at by an economist. The introduction broadened my idea of what an economist does. I would have never thought an economist would work with a psychologist to study behavior or do studies relating to social issues such as discrimination. Wheelan introduces a new way of thinking. He brings up how, many times a solution to a problem may seem straight. However, when the consequences are further investiagated it often creates a greater problem. I find it easy to think about the short run but Wheelan caused me realize how much more beneficial thinking about the long run can be.
