Harris Worthman, Introduction, Question #6

I found many parts of the introduction interesting but strangely humbling. I realized I have a lot to learn. One (very critical) passage in particular about the French government hit me like a brick. In order to solve the unemployment problem they had they tried decreasing the amount of hours in a work week in hopes that it would make room for more workers, which the author states is "utter nonsense". The author boldly states that the leaders of the country, at the time, were unable to grasp even the basics of economics and to be completely honest, I would have probably responded in a similar manner had I been one of those leaders. If there's one thing I would take away from this it's to think through every possibility and to plan accordingly.
